Getting Started

Click “Create New Study” from your dashboard. Describe your research goals to the AI assistant, and it will generate a complete study structure for you. See our Quick Start Guide for step-by-step instructions.
Use the AI chat feature. Simply describe what you want to research, and the AI generates questions, sections, and structure automatically. You can then edit and refine as needed.
Yes! Deepfield offers templates for common research types like Ad Testing, Brand Perception, and Concept Screening. Select a template when creating a new study and customize it for your needs.
With AI assistance, you can have a draft study ready in minutes. Additional time for refinement and testing depends on your study complexity.

Creating Studies

Deepfield supports:
  • Multiple choice (single and multi-select)
  • Matrix/grid questions
  • Ranking questions
  • Open-ended text
  • Video and audio responses
See Question Types Overview for details.
Yes! Use conditional logic to show questions based on previous answers. See Conditional Logic.
Set up screening rules in your study. Participants who don’t meet your criteria will be automatically terminated. See Screening Rules.
Yes! Enable AI follow-ups on open-ended questions, and the AI will automatically generate relevant probing questions based on participant responses. See AI Follow-Ups.
Yes, you can freely edit studies in Draft status. Once published and collecting real responses, editing is limited to protect data integrity.

Recruiting Participants

You can:
  • Use your own participant lists
  • Generate survey links to share
  • Work with panel providers
See Recruiting Overview for options.
Use Test Mode to generate test links. Complete the study yourself to verify everything works. Test responses are marked as test data and don’t count toward your results. See Test Mode.
Incidence rate is the percentage of people who qualify for your study based on your criteria. Lower incidence = fewer people qualify = harder to recruit. See Incidence Rates.
Yes! Set up demographic criteria for your panels including age, gender, location, and more. See Demographic Criteria.

Collecting Responses

It depends on your research goals. For directional insights, 50-100 responses may suffice. For statistical analysis, aim for 200+. Monitor your progress in the Responses tab.
Yes! Responses appear in your Responses tab as participants complete the study. You can monitor progress and review data immediately.
Deepfield automatically assesses quality based on completion time, response length, consistency, and other factors. See Response Quality.
Yes! Export responses in CSV format for analysis in Excel, Google Sheets, or other tools. See Exporting Data.

Analysis & Reports

When you generate a report, Deepfield’s AI analyzes all your responses—finding themes, extracting quotes, creating personas, and writing summaries. It typically takes a few minutes depending on data volume.
Yes! Use Report Chat to ask questions in natural language. The AI can answer questions about your findings, find specific quotes, and explore topics in depth. See Report Chat.
Reports can be generated in English and French. Select your preferred language when generating the report.
Use citations to trace insights back to original responses. Every key finding should link to the source data. See Answer Citations.
Yes! You can generate new reports as more responses come in or if you want a different language. Previous versions may be replaced depending on your settings.

Account & Billing

Go to Profile Settings and find the password/security section. Enter your current password, then your new password, and save. See Profile Settings.
Credits track your usage, typically consumed when collecting participant responses. Check your balance in Account Settings. See Credits & Usage.
You may not be able to collect new responses. Contact your administrator or support to add credits to your account.
Yes! Go to Profile Settings and select your preferred language. The interface will update to your chosen language. See Language Preferences.

Troubleshooting

Check for validation errors—required fields may be missing or have invalid values. Try saving again, and if issues persist, contact support.
Verify your study is published (not in Draft or Testing mode). Check that the survey link is correct and not expired.
Large studies take longer to analyze. Generation can take 10-20 minutes for studies with many responses. You can navigate away while it processes.
AI analysis is a starting point. Use citations to verify findings and Report Chat to explore alternatives. The AI may interpret data differently than you would.
